We believe business should create margin for life—not consume it.

The Trolley Group is a growth partner for companies in the $5–50M range. We help businesses attract the right customers and keep them longer—through strategy, marketing, films, and software.

It started with a red trolley.

The Trolley Group is based in Latrobe, Pennsylvania—the hometown of Fred Rogers. That's not a coincidence. It's the foundation of everything we do.

Matthew Fridg's journey into media and marketing began with Mister Rogers' Neighborhood, where the magic of cameras and storytelling captivated him as a kid. That spark led to an Emmy-winning career in filmmaking—and eventually to building a company guided by the same values Fred Rogers embodied.

This isn't just geography. It's our competitive advantage.

How do we make goodness attractive?

Our work is guided by what we call the Mister Rogers Commission—a mandate taken from Fred Rogers' acceptance speech during his induction into the Television Hall of Fame:

"Those of us in [media] are chosen to be servants. It doesn't matter what particular job, we are chosen to help meet the deeper needs of those who watch and listen, day and night. Life isn't cheap... and [media] needs to do all it can to show and tell what the good in life is all about.

But how do we make goodness attractive? By doing whatever we can to bring courage to those whose lives move near our own, by treating our neighbor at least as well as we treat ourselves, and allowing that to inform everything that we produce.

We all have only one life to live on earth and, through [media], we have the choice of encouraging others to demean this life or to cherish it in creative, imaginative ways."

— Fred Rogers, Television Hall of Fame Induction Speech

This mandate shapes everything we create. We aim to build strategies and tell stories that celebrate the good in life—and help our clients do the same.

Because too many business owners are buried.

They built something real. They should be proud. But somewhere along the way, the business started running them instead of working for them.

They're exhausted. Overwhelmed. Putting off the one thing they've always wanted to do. The dream that got them started keeps getting pushed to 'someday.'

We started The Trolley Group because we believe it doesn't have to be this way. A well-run business should create margin—time, space, energy, resources—to live a fuller life. For owners. For teams. For communities.

That's the world we're building. Starting with the businesses we serve.

Excellence. Integrity. Service.

Excellence

We deliver the highest quality work possible. Not just meeting expectations—exceeding them. We treat every mistake as a stepping stone, and we never stop improving.

Integrity

We're punctual, honest, and transparent—even when the news isn't good. We do what we say we'll do. Trust is earned through consistency.

Service

We genuinely care about our clients, our team, and our community. We go beyond the call of duty—because that's what neighbors do.

The people behind the work.

Matthew Fridg

Founder & CEO

Matthew is an Emmy-winning filmmaker with a master's degree in pastoral counseling. He started The Trolley Group to help business owners find their way back to why they started—and build businesses that create margin for life, not consume it.

Before founding The Trolley Group, Matthew built Headspace Media during the pandemic, learning firsthand that revenue growth doesn't equal freedom. That experience shaped his commitment to helping others avoid the same trap.

He's based in Latrobe, Pennsylvania—Fred Rogers' hometown—and the values of Mister Rogers' Neighborhood guide everything he does.

Great Results + Great Experience

Most companies deliver one or the other. Agencies that get results can be a nightmare to work with. Partners who are pleasant often underdeliver.

At The Trolley Group, both are the standard. We call them our irreducible minimums—the two things we refuse to compromise on. Every client should have great results and a great experience. Period.
