Organic search · Technical audit

Find what is stopping the rest from working.

A standalone technical audit, done by a person, with a fix list your developers can act on.

Start here to get your search visibility reviewed.

How we think about it

Finding problems is easy. Knowing which three matter is not.

Any scanner will hand you four hundred issues in an afternoon. Almost none of them are why your traffic is flat, and working through them in severity order is a very efficient way to spend three months changing nothing.

What we do is read the site the way a crawler experiences it, work out which specific things are actually preventing pages from ranking, and tell you what to fix first. Usually that is a short list.

It is a standalone engagement. If your team implements the fixes and never speaks to us again, the audit did its job.

A technical audit is where we start when organic traffic dropped without an obvious cause, or when good content is not ranking and nobody knows why. How the engines work →

Questions we get

Before you call.

How is this different from running a free scanner?
We run the scanners too, and they are good at finding four hundred issues sorted by severity. The hard part is not finding problems, it is knowing which three are actually costing you traffic. That takes someone who has looked at your specific situation, and that is what you are paying for.
What do we actually receive?
A prioritized list of fixes with the reasoning for each, ordered by impact against effort, and a walkthrough call. Not a PDF export from a tool. If your developers are implementing it, they get specifics they can act on rather than a severity rating.
Our site is a JavaScript app. Does that change things?
It changes a lot and it is worth auditing carefully. Search engines render JavaScript now, but slowly and inconsistently, and the failure mode is silent. A React or Next.js site can look perfect to a human and be substantially invisible to a crawler.
Can we implement the fixes ourselves?
Yes, and plenty of clients do. The audit is a standalone engagement with no obligation to continue. If you have a capable development team, handing them the list is often the fastest path.
How long does it take?
Two to three weeks depending on site size. Most of that is the reading rather than the crawling, because the crawl is automated and the judgment is not.
