Strategy · Advisory

Someone to think out loud with.

Monthly strategic counsel for teams running their own marketing.

Start here to talk through where you are going.

How we think about it

The hardest part of running marketing alone is that nobody checks your reasoning.

A single competent marketer inside a growing company makes a dozen consequential decisions a month with nobody to test them against. Not because they lack skill. Because a decision that sounds right in your own head is very hard to argue with when you are the only one in the room.

Advisory is a monthly call where someone who has seen the same decision go wrong elsewhere asks the awkward question before the money is spent. We review what happened, pressure-test what is pending, and say where we think you are wrong.

Your team keeps the work and the decision. We are not taking over the function, and anyone offering to do that for a monthly retainer is describing something else.

Advisory suits a team that can execute and needs judgment. If there is nobody internally to act on the counsel, you need execution instead. How the engines work →

Questions we get

Before you call.

Who is this actually for?
A competent marketing person working alone. They know what they are doing, they have nobody to think out loud with, and every decision gets made in isolation. That is the situation this fixes, and it is more common in companies your size than anyone admits.
Is this a fractional CMO?
No. A fractional CMO takes ownership of the function and a seat in your management meetings. This is counsel: we review, we pressure-test, we tell you where we think you are wrong, and your team owns the decision and the work.
What does a month actually look like?
A sixty minute call, plus email between calls when something comes up. We review what happened, examine whatever decision is pending, and adjust direction if the data says to. The advisory plus version runs calls every two weeks and adds competitive monitoring and a quarterly business review.
Can we switch to a full engagement later?
Yes, and some do, usually when the work outgrows the team. Others stay on advisory for years because their team is good and just needs a sounding board. We are not trying to convert you.
What if we have no marketing person at all?
Then advisory is the wrong product. There is nobody to advise, and monthly counsel with no one to act on it turns into an expensive conversation. You need execution, which is a different engagement.
